Bayano Hydropower – Civil Works – 80 MW

The Bayano Hydro power generating plant, owned by AES, expanded its capacity by adding a third 80 MW unit. AES contracted Celmec for the design and construction of the civil works associated with the expansion of the plant. The core of the work was the casting of the monolithic foundation for the new Francis type turbine. The project was completed in 18 months.
