PPC eRTGC Phase 4 Electrical Works
Supply and installation of low voltage substations installed inside shipping containers furnished to customer’s specification. These LV substations feed power to the rubber tire gantry cranes throughout the port which were converted from diesel to electric power. The scope of work included power supply from the customer´s MV switchgear to the power supply bus bar for the gantry cranes. The containers where reinforced using steel structures, wall and ceiling cladding with galvanized steel sheets, thermal insulation, small power and lighting, distribution and protection equipment, air conditioning and a fire detection system. Capacitors and harmonics filters were supplied and installed to correct reactive power for the rubber tire gantry crane´s electrical system
Pad mounted transformers and MV cables were supplied and installed from the customer’s 15kV substation to the new electrical containers throughout the ports facility.
All the works were carried out in coordination and without disrupting the port´s 24/7 shipping operation.
